Your Second base

Headquarters

Each Headquarters level grants one additional base slot. So to build your second base, you need to upgrade your Headquarters to level 2.

Required Materials for New Bases

Tier 1 planets:

  • 250x Concrete
  • 30x Construction Kits
  • 10x Construction Vehicles
  • 30x Prefab Kits

Tier 2+ planets: Same as T1 PLUS special material:

  • Tier 2: 40x Pressure Sealant Kit
  • Tier 3: 40x Composite Shielding
  • Tier 4: 40x Nanoweave Shielding

Building Your Second Base

Step-by-step:

  1. Upgrade Headquarters in your base to level 2
  2. Gather all required materials
  3. Load materials onto ship
  4. Fly to destination planet
  5. Click planet, select "Build base"

You can also bring additional construction materials for your first buildings + some consumables and input materials so you can start basic production already.

Building Slot Availability

First base (starter planet):

  • 12 open slots
  • 10 terraformable slots
  • 3 unlockable with stars
  • Total: 25 slots

All subsequent bases:

  • 5 open slots
  • 15 terraformable slots
  • 5 unlockable with stars
  • Total: 25 slots

Terraforming Costs

First plot to terraform costs 1 Construction Vehicle. Each additional plot costs one more Construction Vehicle.

  • 1st terraform: 1 Construction Vehicle
  • 2nd terraform: 2 Construction Vehicles
  • 15th terraform: 15 Construction Vehicles

Planet Tier

Higher tier have better abundance and fertility: Planets with tiers 2+ have significantly higher resource abundance, and fertility.

Higher tier planets can have high tier resources Some of the high tier planets also offer some additional high tier resources that are not available on lower tier planets.

WARNING: T2+ planets require additional materials to build on

  • Constructing the base requires extra building materials
  • Each building requires extra materials to construct, upgrade, and repair

Production buildings that are not extraction or farming buildings do not get any benefit from higher planet tier.

Planet distance from the exchange

Higher Distance = Higher Abundance and Fertility

Average abundance and fertility on planets increase linearly with distance from the exchange.

  • Very distant planets (60ly+) have approximately twice the resource abundance and fertility compared to planets near the exchange
  • However, they also take much longer to reach, and travel times can significantly impact your operations

Early-Game Travel Limitations

It's not recommended to settle farther than 20ly from the exchange until you have Tier 3 FTL emitters on your ships. Basic FTL emitters have very limited maximum speed, making trips beyond 20ly extremely time-consuming and fuel-intensive when transporting goods.

Even 20ly may be too far if you plan to ship heavy materials. Settling on a closer planet might be more cost-effective in the early game.

💡 Recommendation: Focus on planets closer to the exchange until you can build bigger ships with T3+ FTL emitters.
